Founder Lloyd Manokore is a firm believer in the potential of Africa as an emerging market. Having spent his career developing and building connections across the continent, Lloyd holds a wide and high value network and has experience working in various jurisdictions in and around Africa and the rest of the world. Lloyd is a serial entrepreneur and has founded business ventures in several countries including Nigeria, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Zambia, Malawi and Mauritius over the last 20 years. These businesses encompass manufacturing, distribution, retail and advisory services. Lloyd founded Manokore Attorneys (now a member of DLA Piper Africa) in early 2010. He facilitated the growth of the firm from a start-up operation with 3 attorneys; to a fully-fledged award-winning pan-African corporate boutique law firm which is now recognized by various ranking directories such as Chambers and ILFR. The connections made through the alliance with DLA Piper Africa have allowed Lloyd to further develop his international networks. Lloyd is passionate about ensuring Africa’s plethora of opportunities are explored and recognized. A combination of having both advised and built businesses, and a passion for entrepreneurship in Africa gives the impetus to Lloyd being the driver of this platform as a springboard for Africa’s continued success.

- Advisory for a multinational development bank for registering security for its debt restructuring of a chrome mining company, including all transaction documents and advice on regulatory and legal aspects of the local entities.
- Advised a financial and investment management firm specializing in Africa in respect of its financial advisory, fund management, and asset management businesses.
- Advised various banks on a US$20 million revolving facility for an out-grower financing scheme for farmers in the agricultural sector, and a US$10 million debt security swap for inter-related mining companies.
- Key advisor to the largest real estate conglomeration in Zimbabwe on its acquisitions, disposals, development, and refurbishment projects.
- Founded and invested in several businesses in the manufacturing, renewable energy and eco-tourism sectors in Africa.
